Sam Sankhani

Sam Sankhani is a seasoned tour guide who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism at Mzuzu University in 2016 and completed a postgraduate diploma in safari guiding in South Africa (Eco Training) under the FGSA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa). Sam is currently studying for a Master’s in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Mzuzu University (Mzuni). After graduating, Sam worked with Africa Wild Truck as a tour guide and operations assistant. He then joined African Parks in Majete Wildlife Reserve as a safari guide.

What Sam likes about his current role is that it provides him with the opportunity to impart his knowledge and share his experiences in the tourism industry, thereby helping to prepare students for various opportunities in the sector.

Sam advises students at MZUNI to “develop a positive attitude towards the tourism industry and be enthusiastic about acquiring knowledge and skills required for a successful career in the industry. Additionally, they should identify their special area of interest in the tourism sector and focus on continuously sharpening their skills and knowledge in that particular aspect.
