
Biography
Stanley Mvula is a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences within the Faculty of Environmental Science at Mzuzu University. He is currently a PhD candidate (2022-2025) specializing in Fisheries & Aquatic Science (Governance) at Mzuzu University. Dr. Mvula holds an MSc in Aquaculture & Fisheries Science (Socioeconomics) and a BSc in Aquaculture & Fisheries Science, both from the University of Malawi. His primary responsibilities include lecturing and supervising research projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He actively participates in departmental, faculty, and university-wide research and outreach programs, and undertakes research consultancies and outreach initiatives. Mvula’s research interests encompass fisheries livelihoods, policy, socioeconomics and governance, and fisheries management. He teaches courses such as Natural Resource Economics, Introduction to Economics, Fish Population Dynamics and Stock Assessment, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
